TILLY - Cycle Car

Currently in the Painting section of the final phase of being done

Tilly is a three-quarter-scale model of a Ford Model T, also known as a “Tin Lizzie,” was an old-fashioned term for a small, inexpensive, and run-down early automobile, especially a Ford Model T.

The nickname "Tin Lizzie" is often applied to the Model T, but its origin is unknown. One tradition claims the name came from a generic name given to horses. Another claim says the name came from a 1922 race at Pikes Peak, Colorado, where Noel Bullock named his Model T "Old Liz". The car looked ragged, and people compared it to a tin can, earning it the "Tin Lizzie" nickname.

The Model T was a groundbreaking vehicle that made American automobiles accessible to the average citizen. It revolutionized how people lived, worked, and traveled, spurring infrastructure development like roads and gas stations.

A kit that included a chain-driven rear axle, a frame extension, and drive sprockets could convert the Model T into a truck. Ford also used the same chassis for the delivery “panel” truck.

In 2023, we made a Miniature Hot-Rod known as “Hot-Rod Scully.” Throughout 2024, we took it to parades and events to show this Mini-Replica.

We now have turned our focus and energy into making this custom three-quarter-scale Ford Model T pickup truck from a gone-by era.

Our goal is to have it completed with the final layer of clear coat by August 1, 2025 to show it off after numerous test runs by September 5, 2025.
