About Tom

Tom is a published poet and novel cartoonist; he loves dabbling on paper, and he even got a few of his cartoons published in newspapers and magazines. A third-generation craftsman and a Regional, National, and International Award-Winning Photographer. In 2025 he placed 10th (photo shown above) in the International  Amateur Photographers Awards.  He is known to be an expert at telling stories in his nature pictures. His style is simple, establishing a connection with his subjects, allowing him to capture the true essence of nature and wildlife beautifully for rare and intimate portraits.

He is currently working on his next book to be published in 2026.

 As the previous owner of a custom-made craft kit wood furniture business (Picwood USA LLC and White Pine Furniture LLC). Some of his crowning achievements at Picwood USA and White Pine Furniture have been his work on the Paramount Movie "Station Eleven." At one point, Tom had twelve employees and over twenty shops  (in the US) selling his products, including Walmart, Wayfair, ETSY, Plus having sales offices in Canada, United Kingdom, and Texas; with the production and manufacturing area here in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We shipped our items all over the world, from United States to Canada to Iraqi to the Netherlands.

 Due to having essential tremors, Tom gave up his furniture business. 

 He also built a relaxation deck for the evening time. He is now working on his photography.
